Malvern Hills, Tapas & Puppies!

Being away in the motorhome at any time is great fun, but when we are camping with great friends, the whole experience becomes supercharged!

Whilst we were away in Bali in May we decided on an impromptu get away with our dear friends Robyn and Dave for our return and over the bank holiday weekend. With very sketchy internet we left Robyn with the task of locating a suitable site for us all and asked her to book it for us (which she kindly did!)

And that's how we found ourselves heading along the M25 towards Malvern on a Bank holiday Thursday.

Unfortunately, it seemed to be a popular time for everyone else to escape on their own adventures, and we found ourselves on a 6 hour trip, most of that in slow moving traffic jams on the M25. To make things slightly more challenging, we threw in an unseasonable heatwave coupled with an air-conditioning unit which didn't want to turn on!

Everything improved once we had arrived in Malvern- beautiful countryside, very green, lush and soon we were reunited with our lovely friends and their adorable puppy, Jasper! The gin and tonics flowed as we cosied up in Robyn and Dave's awning, Jasper running around and Dave cooking a delicious dinner. It is always a pleasure to spend time with these special people!

We decided on a visit to Worcester, somewhere I had never visited before. Luckily, Robyn had driven their car up so we were mobile for the weekend and it made traveling around so easy!

Worcester was very busy and seems like a thriving town with lots of shops, events and eateries. We had lunch at the Boston Tea Party - Lebanese flat bread with lamb and herbs with pan fried halloumi which was absolutely delicious!

Over the weekend we took it in turns to cater for each evening and on Saturday we were treated to an amazing tapas lunch in Upton on Severn with a table overlooking the river. It was a wonderful afternoon, discussing travel plans, life goals and reminiscing on past adventures.

It was a sad when the weekend came to an end and we said our goodbyes- on Sunday evening, because Robyn and Dave had to leave early (8am) as they had commitments at home.

We made the long journey home with a few stops for refreshments. I had asked the kind folks on the Autotrail Owners forum for advice on our air-conditioning and we managed to change an obscurely placed fuse and hey presto, we were driving home in air-conditioned comfort!

Another fantastic weekend with our besties and their adorable pup.
